Today, the 14th of July, we celebrate the storming of the Bastille, considered the symbolic event of the French Revolution.

The storming of the Bastille was not only about the conquering and eventual demolition of a prison, it was also about the triumph of the ideals of freedom, equality and brotherhood.

These ideals that have become symbolic of this event are still the fundamental values that define French society and its democracy and lie at the heart of the lives of us all.
